In some cases, copper gutters will even last 100+ years.

 

For those who are using vinyl, they tend to last approximately 25 years or so depending on how they are maintained throughout the years.

If fascia needs to be replaced or repaired then this will add to the cost of a repair. Sometimes it makes more sense to replace them on your home if they are in to bad of condition.

    Replacements on average cost between $1500 and $2000. But replacements can increase or decrease depending on the size of your home and the materials you use. For a small home with aluminum gutters it could cost you $900 for a replacement. For a large home with copper gutters, it could cost $7000 for a replacement. The best thing for you to do is have a professional come out and go over the best replacement options for your home.

  • Do I need to be home when my gutters are being replaced?

    The short answer is No. But a replacement usually requires access to the backyard and driveway. So its best to keep any pets inside if you will not be home during your replacement. We will also need access to any gutters that may hang above the driveway so please keep the area clear of any vehicles. 

  • How long should my guards/leaf guards last?

    This depends on what materials your guards are made out of. If you have vinyl guards then youll be looking at 2 to 10 years depending on whats around your house and how bad of weather did they experience. With Missouri getting 100+ days in the summer and freezing cold winters, theres a good chance your guards will take a beating. Then we have aluminum guards. These will last you anywhere from 10 to 20 years and are a little more resistant to the elements than vinyl guards. 

  • Do I Need Oversized Gutters?

    Most homes won't need oversized gutters but this depends on the pitch or the angle of the roof and how long the slopes on the roof are. Houses with lower pitched roofs typically won't need oversized ones because water won't run off the roof as fast as a steeper pitched roof. The steeper a roof is the faster water is going to run off of it. Also mono pitched roofs or roofs with a single slope and no gable may need oversized ones due to more water accumulating on the slope and running into a single gutter. A standard gabled roof will break the slope into multiple sections and direct the water into different gutters. This will help desperse the water, allowing for better drainage. If the roof is  to steep, water may overwhelm a standard sized one and cause it to overflow. This is when oversized ones are a must. The best thing you can do is have a company come out and go over different options availible for your roof. They will be able to tell you if you need oversized ones  or not based on how your roof is set up and how it drains water.

  • Do I Need Guard/Leaf Guards?

    This depends on if your home is covered by trees or not. Most homes are going to have atleast one tree close enough to it to cause leaves and other debri to clog your gutter. If your home doesn't have any trees surronding it then you probably don't need guards. This doesn't mean that they won't get any leaves or debri in them. Theres always a chance that the wind will carry leaves and debri and they may end up in your gutter. But the chance is much lower than if you have trees next to your home. If your home has trees surronding it or even worse hanging over it, then guards are a must. Unless you clean them out multiple times a year. Also if you have trees hanging over your home you may want to have a tree service company come out and assess the situation. The last thing you want is a dead branch falling on your roof. 

  • Why Is Water Puddling At The Bottom Of My Downspout?

    If you have water puddling at the bottom of your downspout or around your foundation then your gutter system isn't pushing water away from your home as it should. This can be fixed by installing a french drain on your system. A french drain will push the water from your gutters into the ground and away from your home. Water puddling around your foundation can cause your home to become unlevel. This can also damage and crack your foundation as well.

  • Why Is My Gutter Overflowing?

    There are a few reasons they might be overflowing. The first reason is that your roof  has to steep of a pitch and water is running into them faster than the they can handle. This can be solved with a larger one being installed. The second reason is that they are overflowing at a corner where a valley on your roof is located. This is caused by water being pushed to the valley and then overwhelming the corner of your gutter. This can be fixed by installing a diverter on the corner. The last and most common reason is that your downspout is clogged and they are holding water. This can obviously be fixed by cleaning the downspout.
